Caleb Marchan scored 14 points as Newark Tech defeated Ramapo, No. 13 in the NJ.com Top 20, 52-49 at the New Year’s Jump Off at Paterson STEAM.

Newark Tech led 33-20 at halftime. Ramapo cut Newark Tech’s lead down to seven after three quarters. Newark Tech held on for the victory despite being outscored 16-12 in the fourth quarter.

Va’Shaun Harper contributed 12 points for Newark Tech.

Newark Tech (6-2) will face Roselle in the EssexFest on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Ramapo (3-3) will travel to Westfield on Saturday at 5 p.m.
