Some people are confident the Eagles will make another Super Bowl run this season, while others do not have a ton of faith.
Eagles legend Seth Joyner is leaning toward doubting the team.
“No, I think they are who they are,” Joyner said on his postgame show on Sunday. “Defensively, they are going to show up and they are going to play well. I think we’re going to be holding our breath throughout these playoffs as far as the offense is concerned.”
The Eagles will begin their playoff journey this Sunday, facing the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round at Lincoln Financial Field.
Joyner has a hard time believing Philadelphia’s offense will do enough to get back to the Super Bowl for the second consecutive year.
“Unless this offensive line chooses to dominate, it will only heighten the inefficiencies of the play calling,” Joyner said. “And the defense and special teams are going to have to carry them through that.”
Philadelphia has been inefficient in the run and pass game throughout the season, and there’s no real reason to believe that will get better.
The Eagles’ offensive line has played poorly all year, and offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo has not excelled as a play caller.
The Eagles could go on a deep run, but it likely won’t be because of their offense.
