Erika Lawson and Dominique Jackson each posted double-doubles to push 28th-seeded American History to a 59-14 win over 37th-seeded West Caldwell Tech in the preliminary round of the Essex County Invitational Tournament, in Newark.
American History (10-6) will face 21st-seeded Payne Tech in the first round on Monday, Feb. 2.
Lawson netted a game-high 21 points while tallying 10 steals, eight assists and four rebounds. Jackson finished with 11 points, 13 rebounds and five steals.
Ashiyah Holliman added eight points to the win.
Francesca Jean-Baptiste scored eight points for West Caldwell Tech (1-11).
