Dumont snapped Butler’s six-match winning streak with a 39-33 victory in Butler
Vincent Petriello got Dumont (11-6) started with a forfeit win at 106 pounds, giving the visitors an early 6-0 lead. Butler (10-6) responded with three consecutive victories, including pins by Jordan Costello at 113 and Brandon Trujillo at 120, to take a 12-6 advantage.
The momentum shifted decisively in Dumont’s favor during the middle weights. Michael Fredrick’s forfeit win at 132 tied the match at 15-15, then Ryan McKenna edged Dom Tillie 13-9 at 138 to put Dumont ahead for good. Daniguel Onyx Trinidad delivered the most dominant performance of the night with a pin in just 54 seconds at 144, extending the lead to 21-15.
Dumont continued its surge as Alex Zelna won by decision at 150 and Joseph Petriello earned a forfeit at 157, pushing the advantage to 30-15.
Butler made a late push with Yurem Arias-Garcia recording the fastest pin of the match in 18 seconds at 165. Leo Meto and Ryder Higbie added pins at 190 and 215 to pull Butler within three points at 36-33.
Emanuel Guzman-Calderon sealed the victory for Dumont with a 7-3 decision over David Santo at 285.
