Lawrence topples Hamilton West in CVC Tournament first round - Girls basketball recap

Amber Wooding scored a game-high 26 points as fourth-seeded Lawrence defeated 13th-seeded Hamilton West in the first round of the Colonial Valley Conference Tournament in Lawrence.

Wooding has scored over 20 points in 10 games this season.

Lawrence (14-9) jumped out to an early lead, outscoring Hamilton West 35-10 in the first half.

Hamilton West fell to 5-17.

Lawrence will advance to play fifth-seeded Notre Dame in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
