Three unleashed dogs attacked two dog walkers and eight leashed dogs in the parking lot of the ShopRite in Hoboken on Wednesday afternoon, a city spokeswoman said.
The unleashed dogs were with their owner when they got out of a vehicle around 1 p.m. and ran up to the group of leashed dogs without being provoked, the spokeswoman said.
One dog on a leash was injured while both dog walkers suffered sprained wrists trying to control the leashed dogs outside the supermarket on the corner of Madison and 9th streets.
The owner of the attacking dogs got his animals under control and left with them before police arrived, the Hoboken officials said.
Secaucus police later seized the three dogs. A department spokesman couldn’t immediately be reached for additional information.
