Cumberland County school districts have begun calling for closures Monday due to a monster winter storm expected to bury the state in 12 to 24+ inches of snow.
Gov. Mikie Sherrill declared a state of emergency for all 21 New Jersey counties ahead of the storm, effective at noon on Sunday.
Blizzard warnings have been issued for the entire state with the National Weather Service calling it a “potentially historic” and “life-threatening” storm.
Up to 60 mph winds are possible along the Jersey Shore and up to 45 mph gusts inland.
School schedule disruptions are possible into early next week as the state digs out from the storm.
