Juventus maintained their hopes of reaching next season’s Champions League after bouncing back from two goals down to draw 3-3 at their top-four rivals Roma with nearly the last kick of the game. Federico Gatti lashed in Juve’s leveller in the third minute of stoppage time to give the visitors a point in Rome that keeps them four points behind their opponents in fourth.
Juve were trailing 3-1 with 12 minutes remaining after goals from Wesley França, Evan Ndicka and Donyell Malen gave the hosts a commanding lead in front of more than 65,000 delighted fans. But Jérémie Boga volleyed Juventus back into the game and just as Roma looked as if they would hold out for the win Gatti pounced on a poorly defended free-kick to snatch an unlikely point.
Como are three points behind Roma in fifth with a trip to the lakeside club coming up in two weeks’ time for Gian Piero Gasperini’s men.
Milan moved closer to Champions League football next season after two late goals gave them a 2-0 win at Cremonese. Second-placed Milan have little realistic hope of winning the Serie A title as they are 10 points behind their local rivals Inter, who beat Genoa 2-0 on Saturday. Meanwhile, Emre Can will miss the remainder of the season after scans confirmed the Borussia Dortmund captain tore an anterior cruciate ligament in Saturday’s 3-2 home defeat by Bayern Munich.
Sevilla came from two goals down to snatch a thrilling 2-2 derby draw against Real Betis in La Liga. Isaac Romero thumped home from outside the box in the 85th minute to salvage his side a point at Betis’s temporary La Cartuja home. It was also the club’s first victory under their new coach, Habib Beye, who took over last month after the departure of Roberto De Zerbi. Marseille pulled to within two points of third-placed Lyon, who suffered their second straight defeat after losing to Strasbourg last weekend.
