Ahead of reopening later this month, Six Flags is kicking off an effort to fill hundreds of seasonal jobs at its Hurricane Harbor water park in Jackson.
In a May 13 news release, the park said it is hiring lifeguards, water slide attendants and other water safety positions.
In addition to competitive pay, flexible schedules and paid training, Six Flags offers in-park discounts, scholarships, free park admission for team members, and complimentary tickets for friends and family.
Lifeguard applicants will receive professional training and certification opportunities, according to Six Flags. The operator noted that individuals must be 15 years or older and perform the prerequisite skills needed for a Shallow Water License, such as swimming 50 yards and retrieving a 10-pound brick from underwater.
According to Six Flags, certification training is paid for and provided by the park.
Hurricane Harbor is scheduled to open May 23. The gated, 22-acre park features a giant wave pool, one of the world’s longest lazy rivers, nearly two dozen water slides and two water playgrounds.
Gaining skills
Kimberly Kerr is water park aquatics operations manager at Hurricane Harbor. “No matter your experience level, Hurricane Harbor New Jersey offers a fun and rewarding summer job opportunity where team members can gain valuable skills, make new friends and create lasting memories.
“Our aquatics team is essential to the guest experience, and we’re excited to welcome new team members ahead of another incredible summer season,” she said.
Six Flags Great Adventure theme park and Wild Safari animal park reopened March 28 with a weekend-only schedule through Memorial Day weekend. After May 29, Great Adventure and Wild Safari will welcome guests seven days a week until Labor Day weekend.
Hurricane Harbor will also wind down after Labor Day.
