The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, or L.A. Metro, is expected to begin construction on two bus-only lanes next year. One will run about 19 miles from North Hollywood through Burbank, Glendale, Eagle Rock and Pasadena. The other will run more than 12 miles along Vermont Avenue from Sunset Boulevard in East Hollywood to 120th Street in South Los Angeles.
While Metro intends to start construction on both projects next year, the North Hollywood-to-Pasadena line has progressed furthest, with pre-construction 80% complete as of last month and overall progress at about 29%. A contractor team has also been selected: a joint venture of Sacramento-based Myers and Sons and Irvine-based Shimmick Construction Co.
