The Buffalo Bills were dominated by a previous 2-7 Miami Dolphins team. To make matters worse, the Bills also saw their third-round pick, defensive end Landon Jackson, go down with a big injury. Now, it appears Jackson’s injury is season-ending.

Jackson was drafted by the Bills in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Arkansas. The big-bodied defensive end picked up 16 sacks during his four-year collegiate career, leading to his landing in Buffalo.
Jackson appeared in three games for the Bills this season and will now miss the remainder of the season with a torn PCL and MCL.
Per Jordan Schultz, Jackson suffered a torn PCL and MCL in the loss to the Dolphins, though he is expected to make a full recovery. An initial recovery timeline has yet to be revealed.

Jackson is likely to miss the remainder of the regular season. The good news is that he did not tear his ACL, which could have led to recovery for a full year.
According to sportsmd.com, a PCL tear can take upwards of 12 months to heal from.
“In many cases, an injured athlete with a PCL sprain and low-level tears such as grade 1 and grade 2 tears, have minimal damage to the ligament and can recover within 2-6 weeks, with no need for surgery. This may be shorter or longer depending on how severe the injury is and how well the athlete responds to therapy. More severe injuries such as grade 2 and grade 3 PCL tears will take 3-4 months. If surgery is needed the recovery may be 6 to 12 months of rehabilitation,” the article states.
It does sound like Jackson may be in for a longer recovery, considering it was his PCL and MCL that tore. Either way, Schultz’s report indicated that the rookie defender will recover fully.
The Bills will need to rebound from losing an emerging potential star pass rusher and their lopsided loss to the Dolphins.
Buffalo will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 11, which will be a tough task, especially since the Buccaneers just lost to the Detroit Lions.
Both the Bills and Buccaneers will be looking for rebound wins and will likely play with a lot more determination.
