Andrew Alfano delivered a dominant performance with 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead North Hunterdon to a 66-63 victory over Woodbridge in a tightly contested game on Saturday.
Alfano nearly recorded a triple-double, adding seven assists and two steals to his impressive stat line as North Hunterdon (7-12) held off a late push from Woodbridge (5-14).
North Hunterdon built its advantage in the first half, outscoring Woodbridge 36-29 to take a seven-point lead into halftime. North Hunterdon maintained its edge despite being outscored 34-30 in the second half.
Jayden Cummings led the offensive effort for Woodbridge with 19 points, including three 3-pointers. Justin Encarnacion added 12 points for the Barrons.
Tyler Luciano contributed 13 points for North Hunterdon, while Ryan Reed added 11 points and seven rebounds. North Hunterdon dominated the glass with a 27 rebounds and recorded 13 assists as a team.
North Hunterdon also had the edge in free throws, converting 7-of-14 attempts compared to Woodbridge’s 2-of-6 from the line, which proved crucial in the three-point victory.
