MANILA, Philippines — Passing on family heirlooms is not unheard of, but motivational speaker and writer Anthony Pangilinan is keeping hidden one item he will bequeath to his oldest son Donny.
The two Pangilinans are the brand ambassadors of the King Seiko watch, both of them attending Taguig media event for the timepiece last February 28.
Philstar.com asked Anthony if there were any item he was eyeing to hand over to Donny and the life lessons attached to them.
Anthony admitted there was one thing on his mind that he’ll give to Donny one day but won’t tell him yet what it specifically is.
“But I want him to remember that it took a lot for the people before him to secure that, to make it available first for themselves then to him,” Anthony continued. “Huwag niya sanang kalimutan na pinaghirapan, pinagpawisan ‘yun, at pinapasa yung bagay and the way of life behind it.”

Donny admitted he looked forward to receiving the unknown item in the future, upon being asked by Philstar.com, comparing the passing of heirlooms to watches, which the actor enjoys collecting.
“You never really own [a watch], you just pass it on to the next generation or whoever you want to share that piece with,” Donny said.
Showing off the watch on his wrist, he detailed the places it could have visited or the meticulous creation of the watch itself.
“There’s just so much, and it’s so cool to have that on your wrist,” Donny ended.
Apart from Donny, Anthony and actress Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan are also parents to Ella, Hannah, Benj and Solana.
