Arden Theatre Company presents the Philadelphia Premiere of “Good Bones”. (PHILADELPHIA, PA) — Arden Theatre Company presents the Philadelphia premiere of Good Bones, the newest play by Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright James Ijames (Fat Ham), about gentrification and the consequences of change in a neighborhood and in a family. Directed by Philadelphia-based award-winning actor Akeem Davis, the production begins performances January 22, opens January 28, and runs through March 8, 2026.
Passage Theatre presents the World Premiere of “Muleheaded, or Zora and Langston Write a Play”. (TRENTON, NJ) — Passage Theatre, the only professional theatre company in Trenton, presents the World Premiere of David Robson’s Muleheaded, or Zora and Langston Write a Play from January 29 through February 16, 2026. The play is based on a seldom told true story between literary giants Zora Neale Hurston and Langston Hughes. Robson had previously written Passage Theatre’s fall 2022 production of Blues in My Soul.
Two River Theater presents “The Good Thief” starring Christopher Fitzgerald. (RED BANK, NJ) — The award-winning Two River Theater presents The Good Thief starring three-time Tony Award® nominee Christopher Fitzgerald (Broadway’s Wicked, Waitress, Spamalot, Young Frankenstein) in the title role from February 4-15, 2026.
Paper Mill Playhouse presents “Come From Away”. (MILLBURN, NJ) — Paper Mill Playhouse presents Come From Away from February 4 to March 1, 2026. The play deals with September 11, 2001 – the day the world stopped – and September 12, when a small Newfoundland town started bringing people together. Come From Away tells the true story of 7,000 stranded airplane passengers welcomed by a community that turned fear into friendship and strangers into family.
Jesse Eisenberg, José Rivera, Christopher Goutman, Lyle Kessler to perform at 2026 Chain Winter One-Act Festival. (NEW YORK, NY) — The 2026 edition of the Chain Winter One-Act Festival takes place from February 5 through March 1, 2026, at Chain Theatre (312 West 36th Street, 3rd and 4th Floors, New York, NY). The festival has become one of the city’s largest and most dynamic showcases for new work.
The Village Playbox presents “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. (HADDON HEIGHTS, NJ) — The Village Playbox presents William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream across three weekends from February 6-21, 2026 at First Presbyterian Church of Haddon Heights. The production is directed by Natasha Thompson.
Rutgers-Camden Theater presents “Hand Me Down the Silver Trumpet” by Kenneth Elliott. (CAMDEN, NJ) — Rutgers–Camden Theater kicks off 2026 with Kenneth Elliott’s, Hand Me Down the Silver Trumpet, which celebrates the legacy of great African American musical artists of the 1920s and 30s who recorded “race records” for the Victor Talking Machine Company, and features performances of classic blues, jazz, and spirituals performed by special guest artists, students, alumni, and a truly swinging band.
October Ensemble Theater Company presents The Sweetest Crime: A Chocolate Covered Murder Mystery. (OCEAN GROVE, NJ) — The October Ensemble Theater Company presents The Sweetest Crime: A Chocolate Covered Murder Mystery weekends from February 6 though March 1, 2026 at the Jersey Shore Arts Center.
Masquerade Theatre presents “American Son”. (RIVERSIDE, NJ) — Masquerade Theatre presents American Son by Christopher Demos-Brown across two weekends from February 6-14, 2026. An estranged bi-racial couple must confront their feelings about race and bias after their son is detained by the local police following a traffic stop incident. Their disparate histories and backgrounds inform their assumptions as they try to find out what happened to their son.
Music Mountain Theatre presents “Les Liaisons Dangereuses”. (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) — Music Mountain Theatre presents Les Liaisons Dangereuses across three weekends from February 6-22, 2026. The Tony-nominated play by Christopher Hampton is based on the novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. It’s a tale of seduction and treachery among aristocrats in pre-revolutionary France.
Bridge Players Theatre Company presents “She Kills Monsters”. (ORADELL, NJ) — Bergen County Players presents Play On!, the fast-paced, laugh-out-loud comedy by Rick Abbot, weekends from February 7-28, 2026 at Oradell’s Little Firehouse Theater. Dubbed a “love letter to community theater,” Play On! offers audiences a rare double feature: the play as it’s meant to be performed… and the play as it actually is.
Brundage Park Playhouse presents “Brighton Beach Memoirs” by Neil Simon. (RANDOLPH, NJ) — Brundage Park Playhouse presents Brighton Beach Memoirs by Neil Simon across two weekends from February 12-22, 2026. A perfect coming-of-age comedy, this play follows Eugene Jerome as he navigates the problems that come with being a teenager during the Great Depression.
Rialto Spotlight Series Continues with Westfield Native Playwright Marc Acito. (WESTFIELD, NJ) — The Rialto Center for Creativity’s Spotlight Series continues into 2026 with an event that brings playwright, novelist, and humorist Marc Acito back to his hometown to discuss his decades-long creative career, which spans Broadway, The New York Times, NPR, and more. The event will take place on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the Rialto Center for Creativity. It begins at 7:00pm.
Lantern Theater Company presents “Blues For An Alabama Sky”. (PHILADELPHIA, PA) — Lantern Theater Company continues its 2025-26 season with the Philadelphia premiere of Blues for an Alabama Sky by Pearl Cleage. Guest director Brett Ashley Robinson leads an ensemble cast including Kash Goins, Taylor Mitchell, and Ebony Pullum, as well as Lantern newcomers Tariq Kanu and Cookie Diorio. Blues for an Alabama Sky runs Thursday, February 12 through Sunday, March 15, 2026, at St. Stephen’s Theater in Center City Philadelphia.
Luna Stage presents Shakespeare’s Hamlet (Abridged!). (WEST ORANGE, NJ) — Luna Stage presents Shakespeare’s Hamlet (Abridged!) in new 90-minute adaptation by Rajesh Bose from February 12 – March 8, 2026 on the MainStage. The play features 5 actors playing 16 roles, highlighting the humor and urgency of this taut, intimate, heartbreakingly political tragedy.
Centenary Stage Company’s Young Audience Series presents “Miss Nelson Is Missing”. Performances will take place in the Little Theatre of the Centenary University campus located at 400 Jefferson St. Hackettstown, NJ, with one performance on Sunday, February 15 at 5:00 pm taking place in the Sitnik Theatre.
CDC Theatre presents “It Shoulda Been You”. (CRANFORD, NJ) — CDC Theatre presents It Shoulda Been You across three weekends from February 13 to March 1, 2026. (SUMMIT, NJ) — From February 13 to August 23, 2026, the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) will showcase three exhibitions that examine various intersections of identity and representation. The exhibitions will feature artists whose work engages with themes such as material culture, Indigenous identity, queerness, and cityscapes, while questioning how narratives and visibility are controlled and reclaimed. Special attention is paid to the various processes of photography as artists demonstrate contemporary approaches to the wet plate, photogravure, and more.
Trenton City Museum presents “Trenton Makes Jazz” Exhibition. (TRENTON, NJ) — Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie presents Trenton Makes Jazz, a juried exhibition celebrating Trenton’s jazz scene, past and present. The varied array of 80 works by 48 area artists is inspired by jazz music, musicians, venues, and audiences. Janis Purcell and Michael Richardson juried the show. Opening Friday, February 13th, the exhibition will remain on view through March 22, 2026 with several related events planned.
