Billie Eilish’s Grammy night protest against ICE drew a sharp rebuke from ex-ESPN host Sage Steele.
On Monday, the former “SportsCenter” host appeared on FOX News. There, she used her platform to blast 11-time Grammy Award winner for her comments at the awards schow on Sunday.
“We’re all fine with immigration — legal immigration. We’re all here because of legal immigration,” Steele said in a clip shared on X/Twitter. “It’s the illegal part and the fact that they choose to ignore those facts, but then spew silly opinions, like Billie Eilish, which was comical what she said. This is why, shut up and dribble? Shut up and sing because you’re super talented, but you don’t know what you’re talking about.”
At the 2026 Grammy Awards, Eilish delivered a politically charged acceptance speech after winning Song of the Year for “Wildflower.”
Standing alongside her brother and collaborator, Finneas O’Connell, the 24-year-old artist used the moment to advocate for immigrant rights and protest current immigration enforcement.
Expressing a sense of social responsibility, she told the audience, “No one is illegal on stolen land,” while also calling for continued activism and “speaking up” against injustice.
The speech, which concluded with a blunt “f— ICE,” became one of the most talked-about highlights of the night, sparking both praise from supporters and a wave of debate across social media regarding the role of artists in political discourse.
