Gloucester County school districts have begun calling for closures and delayed openings for Monday due to a major snow and ice storm.
Widespread snowfall totals of 8 to 18 inches were expected along with a dangerous coating of ice from a mix of sleet and freezing rain.
Gov. Mikie Sherrill declared a state of emergency for all 21 counties ahead of the storm and urged residents to stay home Sunday.
Snow is expected to continue falling Monday before gradually winding down.
School schedules could be affected again on Tuesday with the extended cleanup and dangerously cold temperatures expected Monday night.
