MANILA, Philippines — A screenlife adaptation of “War of the Worlds” starring Ice Cube won the most trophies at this year’s Golden Raspberry Awards, honoring the “worst in film.”
Organizers said the film “utterly destroyed H.G. Wells’ classic novel” with “a goofy gimmick, hack dialogue and a particularly hilarious performance by its lead.”
The movie won five of its six nominations, including Worst Picture and Worst Actor for Ice Cube. Its other wins were for Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Remake, Rip-off or Sequel.
“Ice Cube and his Zoom camera” was up for Worst Screen Combo but that “dishonor” went to the Seven Dwarves in “Snow White,” who were also recognized as Worst Supporting Actor.
Rebel Wilson was named Worst Actress for “Bride Hard” while Scarlet Rose Stallone was Worst Supporting Actress for “Gunslingers.”

The only favorable award, the Razzie Redeemer Award, was bestowed upon Kate Hudson for her Oscar-nominated performance in “Song Sung Blue.”
Hudson previously received Razzie nominations for “Music” (where she won Worst Actress), “Mother’s Day,” “Fool’s Gold” and “My Best Friend’s Girl” — the latter two in the same year.
Past recipients of the Razzie Redeemer Award, given to past Razzie nominees, include Will Smith, Ben Affleck, Mel Gibson, Eddie Murphy, Sylvester Stallone and Melissa McCarthy.
All winners will be given a trophy that only costs $4.97 (around P300).
