Boys
Old Tappan cruised to a North 1, Group 2 sectiona title with 91 points at Rothman Orthopaedics Sports Complex in Toms River.
Aidan Nally led the way as he tied Lakeland’s Logan Gray with a time of 6.67 in the 55.
Brendan McNamara won the 800 (1:56.99) while Benjamin Johnson was victorious in the 1,600 (4:31.81). Old Tappan added another victory in the 4×400 with a time of 3:33.16.
Demarest finished as the runner-up with 64 points. The field events were strong for the team as Julian Fontanez and Avner Molad reached 12-6 in the pole vault. Brendan Alef added a win in the high jump with a mark of 6-4.
Adrian Cami put up a time of 7.83 in the 55 hurdles to win gold as well.
Matt Gandolfo of River Dell won the 400 with a time of 51.38 while Daniel Seminara of Lakeland won the 3,200 at 10:06.03. Montville’s Anthony Agnoli won shot put at 56-10.25.
Girls
The girls’ side saw multiple athletes take home two titles.
For Demarest, who won the team title with 76 points, Sophie Estrems won the 800 with a time of 2:23.86.
Old Tappan finished as the runner-up at 66, with much of the work getting done in the field. Carolina Ognibene won the high jump (5-4) and pole vault (11-0). Gianna DeMarco added a win in the shot put with a mark of 34-5.
In sprints, it was Jacqueline Reid who dominated with wins in the 55 (7.36) and 55 hurdles (8.31).
Ciara Clinton of West Milford was another dual-champion, winning the 1,600 with a time of 5:11.67 and 3,200 at 11:12.05.
Westwood finished third with 33. The 4×400 won gold with a time of 4:14.50. Samiya Bovell of River Dell added a win in the 400 at 1:00.34.
