San Francisco — Mr. J. Russell Kennedy, who is here en route to Tokyo, addressed a large gathering of business men at a luncheon at the Palace Hotel on Friday, on “Japanese-American Relations.” Mr. Kennedy laid particular stress on the trade opportunities for American businessmen in the Far East as soon as the world readjusts itself and the agitation against the Japanese in America ceases. He showed that the American trade with Japan last year amounted to $800 million, and that the United States is the best customer of Japan, who has never entertained the slightest intention of war. War with America, said Mr. Kennedy, would spell bankruptcy for Japan.
