New Jersey high school boys basketball is really heating up and you’ll want to be set to take in all the action.
Each week, the NJ Advance Media boys basketball staff will bring you a list of games to keep an eye on – a Game of the Day and a few others that have piqued our interest.
Take a look below for the games to watch, Jan. 19-25.
Monday, Jan. 19
Game of the Day
St. Mary (Ruth.) vs. Union Catholic at Paterson STEAM, 4
Call it seven wins in a row for St. Mary (Ruth.), as the Gaels knocked off No. 15 St. Benedict’s on Jan. 17 at Montclair State behind Matt Kennedy’s 23 points, Merrick Olkowski’s 17 points, and Jake Ellis’ double-double of 13 points and 10 assists. St. Mary is making major headway this season, making Monday’s contest against Union Catholic a can’t-miss contest. The Vikings lost to a Top 10 team in Linden on Jan. 13 to prove they can hang with anyone in New Jersey. Malik Moore dropped 25 points in that game, his fifth 20-point game of the winter.

With the 1-2 punch of Alex Pace and Keyshawn Franklin, the Panthers will look to avenge last year’s four-point loss. Lenape rebounded from back-to-back losses against Seneca and Cherry Hill East to knock off Rumson-Fair Haven in the Jimmy V Showcase at Central Regional on Saturday.
