ShopRite of Manahawkin is planning to open next month at a new 116,000 square-foot location in Ocean County.
A Feb. 4 opening date is set for the new supermarket, located in Manahawkin Commons on the site of the former KMart at 733 Route 72 W in Manahawkin.
The new ShopRite will replace the existing store at Stafford Square, also on Route 72.
A call on Friday to the Stafford Square ShopRite confirmed that the store is expecting to move Feb. 4.
The Stafford Square store will close when the new store opens.
Signs at the Stafford Square ShopRite also remind customers to visit the new supermarket in Manahawkin Commons starting Feb. 4.
The new supermarket had been scheduled to open in December, but was delayed.
The Saker family operates the Manahawkin stores.
The fifth-generation, family-owned business traces its New Jersey roots to 1947.
Saker currently owns and operates 40 supermarkets, primarily throughout Ocean and Monmouth counties.
