For the second straight year NJ.com No. 2-ranked St. Peter’s Prep wrestled national prep powerhouse Blair and for the second straight year the Bucs handled the Marauders.
Blair, which ranks No. 4 in the national rankings per MatScouts, defeated SPP in a 57-6 final on Friday in Jersey City. Last year, Blair won this matchup 40-31.
The Marauders entered the match ranked No. 20 in MatScouts’ Fab 50 with their lone loss coming to No. 6 nationally-ranked and NJ.com No. 1 Delbarton in the semifinals of the N.J. Catholic School Duals on Jan. 3. Delbarton won that match 49-13.
SPP will be looking to turn the page on Wednesday at home against St. Joseph (Met.). Blair has Delbarton at home on Thursday in what will likely be a battle of nation Top 5s.
