Gov. Mikie Sherrill declared a state of emergency for all 21 New Jersey counties ahead of the storm.
Blizzard warnings have been expanded statewide, with forecasters warning of wind gusts up to 60 mph, whiteout conditions and the potential for power outages. Sherrill said the storm could produce up to 3 inches of snow per hour.
“I just had a briefing early this morning with the National Weather Service and they said they anticipate a foot of snow blanketing the state. About 2 feet along the shore,” Sherrill said Sunday on 1010 WINS. “There are going to be dangerous, dangerous conditions on our roads. Everyone should stay off the roads tonight.”
