In this special edition, we’re taking a journey through public art in New Jersey with our new digital documentary series “Painting Community.”
From the neighborhoods of Newark to the boardwalks of Atlantic City, we’ll explore how murals and installations are doing far more than decorating blank walls. They’re telling stories — reflecting identity and culture, and helping build community.
In our first episode, we travel to Atlantic City, where artist Manuela Guillén brings together themes of heritage, nature and public space to craft a bold new mural and spark creative dialogue. We examine how one image can become a gathering place and help shape the story of a city.
