You may have noticed higher tolls on the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway at the start of the new year.
Tolls have also increased on the Atlantic City Expressway, the George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln and Holland tunnels, Bayonne and Goethals bridges and the Outerbridge Crossing.
Transportation agencies are allowed to increase tolls to keep up with inflation.
New Jersey’s gas tax also went up by 4.2 cents per gallon. The gas tax helps fund transportation and infrastructure projects around the state.
