Addy Fitzgerald scored 20 points and made four 3-pointers as top-seeded New Providence, No. 13 in the NJ.com Top 20, held off fourth-seeded Plainfield, 58-55, in the Union County Tournament semifinals at AL Johnson High School in Clark.
Annie Conover had 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists for New Providence (23-1), which trailed 25-19 at halftime. Megan Henn added 11 points and Haley Kessler chipped in eight.
For Plainfield (13-11), Sarae Croley-Battle led all scorers with 23 points. Imani Mullings had 15 points and Jahnae Lembrick added 12.
New Providence, the defending Union County champions, will play second-seeded Westfield in a rematch of last year’s final on Sunday at 4 p.m. at Kean University.
New Providence won both regular season meetings against Westfield.
