‘Number One’ tells the story of ‘Ha-min (Choi Woo-shik),’ who begins to see a number decrease each time he eats his mother’s food, and discovers that when the number reaches zero, his mother ‘Eun-sil (Jang Hye-jin)’ will die. He then strives to protect her. Adapted from the Japanese novel ‘The Number of Times I Can Eat My Mother’s Home Cooking Is 328 Times Remaining’ by Uwano Sora, the film reimagines the story in a Korean context.
