MANILA, Philippines — Actor Ron Angeles has filed a complaint in relation to leaked intimate videos, his label Mentorque Productions confirmed.
Earlier this month a number of private videos allegedly involving Angeles and fellow actors Gil Cuerva, Nikko Natividad and Arron Villaflor were circulated online.
Cuerva, Natividad and Villaflor have since addressed the issue to some degree, with Villaflor — who is also a board member of Tarlac’s second district — calling the “coordinated release of alleged private footage” a serious criminal matter.
“As both a citizen and a public servant, I strongly condemn the weaponization of private content and all forms of digital violence,” Villaflor previously said. “No person deserves to have their dignity violated in this way.”
Mentorque recently released a statement acknowledging the circulation of intimate videos, including one including Angeles.
“What was believed to be a private encounter was recorded without consent and has reportedly been distributed and sold over an extended period,” said the company, making it clear that it was not an isolated case.
The company said that it coordinated with authorities to uncover an individual involved in “a larger, organized network engaged in the illegal recording, distribution, and exploitation of victims,” which Mentorque deplored as a “grave and deeply disturbing criminal enterprise.”
Mentorque confirmed that Angeles had already filed a formal complaint and they too are fully committed to pursuing the case until all inolved are identified, held accountable, and brought to justice.
“We call on other victims to come forward. You are not alone. We are ready to support you and stand with you in seeking justice,” said the company, asking any with information that may aid in the investigation to come forward too and cooperate.
The company reiterated to the public that sharing, reposting, or engaging intimate content is illegal and asked all to act responsibly on social media as they will also pursue those who participate in distribution.
“Every view, every share, and every transaction fuels this exploitation,” they continued. “These individuals have endured unimaginable trauma, and the impact extends beyond them to their families and communities who are also suffering through this deeply distressing experience.”
The statement ended with a reminder that abuse and exploitation can happen to any individual regardless of gender, “This must end. Help us stop this.”
