Topman has launched a design competition to discover three exceptional artists for a collaboration with the ST.ART Gallery, with the winning artist seeing their work transformed into a limited-edition capsule collection sold exclusively on Topman.com.
The menswear brand is looking for emerging artists across photography, painting, illustration and printmaking disciplines to submit their interpretations of the theme, drawing inspiration from Topman’s collection, Gentle Transition.
Rooted in traditional workwear but reimagined with soft structure and tactile fabrics, the collection provides a perfect canvas for bold, creative responses, according to the brand.
From an initial shortlist of 30 creatives, three winners will be chosen to showcase their work on Topman T-shirts and sweatshirts through screen print, digital print and embroidery, with each artist’s signature included as a defining detail.
Topman suggests that the initiative – which will see winners receive a prize fund and have their original art showcased at ST.ART Gallery – underlines its commitment to emerging British talent and creates space for new voices to influence the future of the brand.
ST.ART Gallery was founded in 2021 and is a contemporary London-based space dedicated to championing emerging artists.
Pieces will be revealed at the official launch event, offering artists the chance to share their work with a wider audience and spark a new dialogue between art and fashion.
Moses Rashid, Global Marketing Director for Topshop, said: “Supporting British creativity is at the heart of Topman. This collaboration allows fresh voices to shape our brand while celebrating the talent emerging from across the UK.
“We’re thrilled to expand our mission of supporting emerging artists to a major stage, bridging the worlds of art and fashion while amplifying new talent on a national scale,” added Charlie Pannell, ST.ART Gallery Director.”
