A New Jersey teenager shot and killed a 17-year-old girl that he knew early Saturday morning in Edison, authorities say.
The suspect, a 17-year-old whose name has not been released, is charged with acts of juvenile delinquency, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. The shooting would be considered aggravated manslaughter if the suspect was an adult, authorities said.

The male suspect, from Plainfield, was arrested at the scene, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera and Edison Chief Thomas Bryan.
He is being held at the Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center while waiting for a preliminary hearing in family court.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Edison Police Department at 732-248-7471 or the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-3316.
