The second round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am wrapped up on Friday, with Keegan Bradley and Mary Meeker sitting atop the leaderboard.
Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce was paired with Keith Mitchell, as the duo sat in a tie for the No. 35 spot by combining for 11-under 133. They carded a 67 on Thursday and 66 on Friday.
“I know I’m not gonna come out here and shoot low, I’m just gonna have some fun doing it,” Kelce said in a Golf Channel interview.
Alex Smith, the former Chiefs quarterback and teammate of Kelce, fared much better in the second round.
Smith was paired with Mackenzie Hughes, finishing Friday’s action in a tie for No. 10 with a combined score of 15-under 129.
Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young and former NBA star Pau Gasol were also competing in the event. Young and Gasol were paired alongside Garrick Higgo and Nico Echavarria, respectively.
Gasol and Echavarria recorded an 8-under 136 to end up at No. 56 on the leaderboard, while Young and Higgo sat at No. 76 by carding a 4-under 140.
The third round will begin on Saturday at 11:22 a.m. ET.
