Juan Sanchez and Aivaye Ingram each scored 18 points as Trenton pulled away for a 76-62 victory in the semifinal round of the Colonial Valley Conference Tournament in Trenton.
Sanchez hit two 3-pointers for Trenton (19-7) and went 6-of-7 from the line. Kaleb Smith and JayDon English-Fulton added 13 and 10 points, respectively. Jharris Genao Ramos contributed 9 points, including one 3-pointer, and Garmari Davidson added 8, also hitting from beyond the arc.
Tyler Bunnell put together a strong offensive performance for Robbinsville (16-10), scoring a game-high 27 points on 11 two-point field goals in the loss.
Jackson Davis added 13 points for Robbinsville, converting 7-of-8 from the free-throw line, while Connor Yuncza chipped in 6 points, including one 3-pointer.
Trenton set the tone early, outscoring Robbinsville 23-16 in the first quarter and 19-13 in the second to take a 42-29 lead into halftime. Robbinsville responded with its best quarter of the game in the third, outscoring Trenton 21-20, but could not close the gap. Trenton closed out the game with a 14-12 fourth quarter to secure the win.
Trenton will hosts Notre Dame in the CVC Tournament final on Feb. 21 at 5 p.m. Robbinsville travels to face Holmdel on Feb. 24 in the Central Jersey, Group 2 Tournament.
