The play takes place in a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets.
“The Phil Collins Story” comes to MPAC (MORRISTOWN, NJ) — From the team that brought you the smash hit tour The Simon & Garfunkel Story comes The Phil Collins Story. It chronicles his remarkable chart-topping time with Genesis to his multi-Grammy winning solo career to his Academy Award-winning work for Disney. The tour comes to Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 7:30pm.

American Theater Group presents “My Fair Lady” (UNION, NJ) — American Theater Group (ATG) presents My Fair Lady from February 26-March 15, 2026, in venues located in Basking Ridge, Union, and Rahway. Based on George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion, My Fair Lady was the recipient of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The production is directed by ATG’s Producing Artistic Director James Vagias, with choreography by Victoria Casillo and Musical Direction by Amanda Dee.
Vivid Stage Brings Pop-Up Theatre: Crossroads on the Canvas to the Visual Arts Center of NJ (SUMMIT, NJ) — Vivid Stage will bring a fresh format of theatre to the community on Friday, February 27, 2026. Crossroads on the Canvas is a Pop-Up show that will appear at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit for one night only. This unscripted story will be improvised by the Vivid company of actors while the audience joins them in one of the center’s art studios.
State Theatre New Jersey presents the Tony and Grammy Award-winning Musical “Kinky Boots” (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) — State Theatre New Jersey presents the national tour of the Award-winning musical Kinky Boots for four performances from February 27 to March 1, 2026. The MAC Players at the Middletown Arts Center present “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” (MIDDLETOWN, NJ) — The MAC Players at the Middletown Arts Center present The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee across three weekends from February 27 to March 8, 2026. The hit play is about an eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime.

Arden Theatre Company presents the Philadelphia Premiere of “Good Bones” (PHILADELPHIA, PA) — Arden Theatre Company presents the Philadelphia premiere of Good Bones, the newest play by Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright James Ijames (Fat Ham), about gentrification and the consequences of change in a neighborhood and in a family. Directed by Philadelphia-based award-winning actor Akeem Davis, the production begins performances January 22, opens January 28, and runs through March 8, 2026.
Paper Mill Playhouse presents “Come From Away” (MILLBURN, NJ) — Paper Mill Playhouse presents Come From Away from February 4 to March 1, 2026. The play deals with September 11, 2001 – the day the world stopped – and September 12, when a small Newfoundland town started bringing people together. Come From Away tells the true story of 7,000 stranded airplane passengers welcomed by a community that turned fear into friendship and strangers into family.
Jesse Eisenberg, José Rivera, Christopher Goutman, Lyle Kessler to perform at 2026 Chain Winter One-Act Festival (NEW YORK, NY) — The 2026 edition of the Chain Winter One-Act Festival takes place from February 5 through March 1, 2026, at Chain Theatre (312 West 36th Street, 3rd and 4th Floors, New York, NY). The festival has become one of the city’s largest and most dynamic showcases for new work.
October Ensemble Theater Company presents The Sweetest Crime: A Chocolate Covered Murder Mystery (OCEAN GROVE, NJ) — The October Ensemble Theater Company presents The Sweetest Crime: A Chocolate Covered Murder Mystery weekends from February 6 though March 1, 2026 at the Jersey Shore Arts Center.
Bergen County Players presents “Play On!” by Rick Abbot (ORADELL, NJ) — Bergen County Players presents Play On!, the fast-paced, laugh-out-loud comedy by Rick Abbot, weekends from February 7-28, 2026 at Oradell’s Little Firehouse Theater. Dubbed a “love letter to community theater,” Play On! offers audiences a rare double feature: the play as it’s meant to be performed… and the play as it actually is.
Lantern Theater Company presents “Blues For An Alabama Sky” (PHILADELPHIA, PA) — Lantern Theater Company continues its 2025-26 season with the Philadelphia premiere of Blues for an Alabama Sky by Pearl Cleage. Guest director Brett Ashley Robinson leads an ensemble cast including Kash Goins, Taylor Mitchell, and Ebony Pullum, as well as Lantern newcomers Tariq Kanu and Cookie Diorio. Blues for an Alabama Sky runs Thursday, February 12 through Sunday, March 15, 2026, at St. Stephen’s Theater in Center City Philadelphia.
Luna Stage presents Shakespeare’s Hamlet (Abridged!) (WEST ORANGE, NJ) — Luna Stage presents Shakespeare’s Hamlet (Abridged!) in new 90-minute adaptation by Rajesh Bose from February 12 – March 8, 2026 on the MainStage. The play features 5 actors playing 16 roles, highlighting the humor and urgency of this taut, intimate, heartbreakingly political tragedy.
CDC Theatre presents “It Shoulda Been You” (CRANFORD, NJ) — CDC Theatre presents It Shoulda Been You across three weekends from February 13 to March 1, 2026. This is Broadway’s wild musical farce with blushing brides, nervous grooms, overbearing moms, unexpected guests and plenty of crazy twists and turns.
Nutley Little Theatre presents “Harvey” by Mary Chase (NUTLEY, NJ) — Nutley Little Theatre presents Harvey by Mary Chase weekends from February 13-28, 2026. The Pulitzer Prize-winning play is one of the longest-running comedies in Broadway and West End history, capturing the magic of amiable Elwood P. Dowd’s friendship with his best friend, a tall white rabbit which only he can see.
Axelrod Performing Arts Center presents the premiere of “That’s Love! The Dorothy Dandridge Musical” starring N’Kenge (DEAL PARK, NJ) — Axelrod Performing Arts Center (APAC) presents premiere of That’s Love! NJ Rep presents the World Premiere of “Samantha Inside Out” (LONG BRANCH, NJ) — New Jersey Repertory Company (NJ Rep), the award-winning incubator for new plays and daring theatrical voices, kicks off its 2026 Mainstage Season with the world premiere of Samantha Inside Out, running February 19 through March 15, 2026, at the Lumia Theater in Long Branch. Opening night will be February 21, 2026.
Middlesex College presents “Edges” (EDISON, NJ) — Middlesex College’s Visual, Performing, and Media Arts Department presents Edges across two weekends (February 19-21 and February 26-28, 2026) at the Studio Theater in Edison. The 100-minute production is a song-cycle about a group of young, burgeoning adults asking classic coming-of-age questions.
Haddonfield Plays and Players presents “Noises Off” (HADDONFIELD, NJ) — Haddonfield Plays and Players presents Noises Off weekends from February 20 through March 7, 2026. Called “the funniest farce ever written,” Noises Off presents a manic menagerie of itinerant actors rehearsing a flop called Nothing’s On.
Centenary Stage Company presents Dial “M” for Murder (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) — Centenary Stage Company presents Dial “M” for Murder, running February 20 through March 8, 2026 in the Sitnik Theatre of the Centenary University campus. Adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from the original by Frederick Knott, this is a new version of the celebrated murder mystery that inspired Alfred Hitchcock’s cinematic masterpiece.
The Levoy Theatre presents “Shrek, The Musical” (MILLVILLE, NJ) — The Levoy Theatre presents Shrek, The Musical across two weekends from February 20 to March 1, 2026. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, this is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change) and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire.
“You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” To Open MainStage Season For Gateway Playhouse (SOMERS POINT, NJ) — Cartoonist Charles M. Schulz’s beloved “Peanuts” characters come to life in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, a charming, family-friendly musical packed with heart and laughter, hitting Gateway Playhouse weekends from February 20 to March 1, 2026. The musical marks the first in an all-musical MainStage Season for the theater company.
Lewis Center for the Arts’ Program in Theater & Music Theater presents “Manual for a Desperate Crossing” (PRINCETON, NJ) — The Lewis Center for the Arts’ Program in Theater and Music Theater at Princeton University presents Manual for a Desperate Crossing by María Irene Fornés, an epic migratory montage that follows a group of Cuban rafters, or “balseros,” fleeing to the United States in the mid-1990s. The production is directed by Princeton junior Didi Vekri with lighting design and dramaturgy by senior Elena Milliken. Performances are February 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 at 8:00pm in the Wallace Theater at the Lewis Arts complex on the Princeton campus.
Two River Theater presents Henrik Ibsen’s “A Doll’s House” with a Jersey Twist (RED BANK, NJ) — Two River Theater presents Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, adapted and directed by Justin Emeka (Sweat, Romeo and Juliet). Mr. Emeka’s adaptation will run in the Joan and Robert Rechnitz Theater from February 21–March 15, 2026.
VIP Theatricals presents the World Premiere of “CURTSEY – A Royal Comedy” (NAVESINK, NJ) — VIP Theatricals presents the World Premiere of CURTSEY – A Royal Comedy by David J. V. Meenan. Polite society takes a spectacular tumble in this fast, fizzy period farce set in the spring of 1939 at the impeccably proper — and wildly unprepared — Woman’s Club of Red Bank, New Jersey. Performances take place across two weekends from February 21 to March 1, 2026 at The Navesink Library Theatre.
Two River Theater announces cast and creative for “A Doll’s House” (RED BANK, NJ) — The award-winning Two River Theater has announced the cast and creative team for Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House. Written by Henrik Ibsen and adapted and directed by acclaimed director Justin Emeka (Sweat, Romeo and Juliet), this world premiere adaptation is reimagined in 1950s New Jersey, weaving Black culture into one of the most powerful plays ever experienced. A Doll’s House will run in the Joan and Robert Rechnitz Theater from February 21–March 15, 2026.
Hunterdon Hills Playhouse presents “The Sunshine Boys” by Neil Simon (HAMPTON, NJ) — Hunterdon Hills Playhouse presents The Sunshine Boys by Neil Simon from February 24 through March 26, 2026. This is a classic comedy about two aging vaudeville performers, Willie Clark and Al Lewis, who were once a legendary duo but haven’t spoken in years due to a bitter falling out.
Pushcart Players to present “Lift Every Voice” at Passaic County Community College (PATERSON, NJ) — Pushcart Players, the award-winning educational theater for young and family audiences, will present “Lift Every Voice: A Letter to the Editor” at Passaic County Community College in Paterson on February 24-25, 2026. The play is presented in celebration of Black History Month, and will continue touring regionally to schools and theaters through June.
Liberty Arts Theatre presents a Staged Reading of “The Last Victim of the Holocaust” (LEONIA, NJ) — Liberty Arts Theatre, a new and emerging, non-profit, arts organization based in Bergen County, presents a stage reading of The Last Victim of the Holocaust on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at The American Legion – Post #1. This is a new play and a discussion with the playwright will follow the performance. The event begins at 7:30pm.
American Theater Group presents Lerner and Loewe’s “My Fair Lady” (BASKING RIDGE, NJ) — American Theater Group (ATG) will present Lerner and Loewe’s beloved My Fair Lady as its final main stage production of the 2025-26 season. The production will run February 26 to March 15, 2026 at three venues in New Jersey: the Sieminski Theater in Basking Ridge, the DMK Theater/Union Arts Center in Union, and UCPAC’s Hamilton Stage in Rahway.
The Theater Project presents THINK FAST 2026 The Theater Project presents THINK FAST – A virtual short play competition from February 27 to March 1, 2026. At this competition, 7 to 10 short plays are selected for 3 pre-recorded broadcast performances. The goal is to give emerging writers in NJ and beyond the chance to showcase their work.
Kent Place School presents “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder (SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) — Kent Place School presents Our Town by Thornton Wilder February 27-28 at South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC). Described by Edward Albee as “the greatest American play ever written,” Our Town presents the small town of Grover’s Corners in three acts: “Daily Life,” “Love and Marriage” and “Death and Eternity.”

This is the launch of a new series from Black Box Studios, Northern New Jersey’s incubator for new and under produced plays by world-class artists or their estates.

This extraordinary play by Brian Friel is the story of five unmarried sisters eking out their lives in a small village in Ireland in 1936.
Trilogy Repertory presents “The Secret Garden” (BASKING RIDGE, NJ) — Trilogy Repertory presents The Secret Garden across two weekends from March 13-22, 2026 at the Sieminski Theater. This enchanting classic of children’s literature is reimagined in brilliant musical style by composer Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of ‘Night Mother.
Faith and Frosting Collide in “The Cake” at Bergen County Players (ORADELL, NJ) — Enjoy a touching and topical dramedy as love clashes with conscience in Bergen County Players’ (BCP) production of The Cake. The play, written by Bekah Brunstetter, producer/writer for the hit TV series This Is Us, is directed by Carol Fisher of Teaneck. It opens March 14 and runs through April 11, 2026 at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell.
New Jersey Theatre Alliance presents The 2026 Combined Auditions (HILLSIDE, NJ) — New Jersey Theatre Alliance (NJTA), the service organization for the state and region’s 41 professional theatres, will hold auditions in Enlow Recital Hall on the campus of Kean University in Hillside, NJ on Monday, March 16 from 10:00am-5:00pm for Equity performers, and Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 10:00am-5:00pm for Non-Equity performers.
