Travis Kelce is setting the record straight after Meryl Streep seemingly threw a little playful shade his way. Let’s just say, he’s not looking to escalate things.
During the Thursday, April 29 episode of his “New Heights” podcast, Travis’ brother Jason Kelce brought up Streep’s jab, joking, “Do we have beef with Meryl Streep? Is there Meryl Streep beef?”
Travis, 36, quickly shut that down with a laugh, making it clear he’s on Team Streep. “That’s a powerful woman right there,” he said. “I am a fan of Meryl Streep. I don’t have any beef with her.”
The alleged “beef” refers to 76-year-old Streep’s recent press tour for “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” where she joked about the challenges of filming in Milan. “The hardest thing about shooting in Milan was walking in stilettos on the cobblestones. I’d like to see Travis Kelce do that,” she quipped. It’s unclear why Streep brought Travis into the mix, however.
Back on the podcast, Travis admitted the challenge might be a bit out of his comfort zone — even as a world-class athlete. “I don’t think I can do it, Meryl,” he said. “I’ll let you have it.”
Jason joked that his brother was a “quitter” for backing down. Still, Travis left the door open for a future attempt: “I’ll tell you what Meryl. If I ever find myself in Italy on that cobblestone, I’ll try and find a size 14 and we’ll put it to the test.”
Off the field, Travis has also been making headlines for his relationship with pop icon Taylor Swift. According to a source who spilled details to Page Six about the couple’s ‘Save the Date’ invites, Travis and Swift, 36, are planning to tie the knot on July 3, 2026, in New York City.
