MANILA, Philippines — Actress Lovi Poe is set to star in the upcoming international thriller film “Ignition” with “Game of Thrones” actor Maisie Williams.
Lovi posted a Variety report about the project on her Instagram. The film also co-stars English actor Rory Kinnear.
“So excited to finally share this film I’ve been working on. IGNITION’s first look is out now — being introduced at Cannes this May. Can’t wait,” Lovie wrote.
“Oh, and by the way…the North remembers. Had to bring a little ‘Game of Thrones’ energy,” she added.
According to Variety report, “’Ignition’ follows a young woman [Sylvie Johnson] unwittingly drawn into a terrifying terrorist plot — a story of paranoia, technology, and the courage to confront the truth,” film director James Erskine said of the character portrayed by Williams.
“I wanted the audience to feel completely inside Sylvie’s experience as events unfold, capturing a sense of immediacy and psychological pressure that builds in real time. It creates the ideal platform for Maisie Williams’ extraordinary central performance,” he added.
Lovi was also cast in the horror film ““My Sister’s Bones” along with “Thunderbolts” star Olga Kurylenko.
The 79th Cannes International Film Festival will take place from May 12 to 23 in Cannes, France.
