CBSE Class 10 Mathematics Exam 2026 Analysis: Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has started the second board examination for class 10 students from today with Mathematics. The first examination has now ended and the first reactions from students who have appeared for the examination is here. The first feedback – the difficulty level was similar with only minor changes!
CBSE Class 10 Mathematics Exam 2026 Analysis: More inputs are awaited as the number of students appearing for the second board examination are considerably fewer. However, of all the subjects, sources have revealed that maximum registrations were made for CBSE 10th Mathematics examination – both for standard and basic. Notably, the Class 10 Mathematics main examination conducted in February was cited to be tough with many students even lamenting that basic paper was tougher and more difficult as compared to standard examination.

Apeksha, a class 10 student who appeared to improve her mathematics score in CBSE 10th board results said that she felt this paper was slightly better. “I was better prepared this time around and I am confident that I would be getting better marks in today’s paper. But as for difficulty, I would say it was similar in level and not much change was noticeable.” She was appearing for Class 10 Mathematics Standard paper.
Another student who wrote the examination called it tougher. “I am just happy better of two scores will be considered,” he said.

More reactions are awaited. Teachers have not had a chance to go through the question paper in detail as yet to comment on the difficulty level. Primarily, the first comments have been that the paper difficulty levels were matched.
Teachers who have gone through the paper also mentioned that the questions were in the same pattern but the basic mathematics paper was easier this time around. This, they suggested, was perhaps after the criticism received by the board.
More details are awaited. Experts are also working on the answer key. Once the question paper and answer key of the examination is released, the same will be shared on Jagran Josh for the students.
The second board examinations for Class 10 students are underway and will be conducted within this week. Students have been given a chance to opt for and appear for a maximum of 3 subjects which may include one language paper. As many as 6.6 lakh students have reportedly registered for the second board examination. English examination will be conducted tomorrow followed by Science. The examination ends on May 21 with Social Science paper.
The exam was conducted from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm for only the candidates who chose to appear for the examination in order to improve their score.
