A Hillsborough deputy was arrested Wednesday on a charge of child molestation, according to the sheriff’s office.
Manuel Chaveco Delgado, 42, was arrested by the Hialeah Police Department, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. He faces charges of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child between the ages of 12 and 16 and showing obscure material to minor.
According to the sheriff’s office, Chaveco Delgado joined the agency in September 2025 and worked in detention services. He has been placed on administrative leave without pay.
The Hialeah Police Department did not immediately provide an arrest report or further details about the investigation.
