Colorado head coach Deion Sanders offered words of encouragement for Ivan Yates after the cornerback used some advanced metrics to make a pitch for himself.
“I BELIEVE IN YOU MY BROTHER!” Sanders wrote after Yates cited data from PFSN and Pro Football Focus:
Yates spent two seasons with the Buffaloes after transferring in from Furman. In 23 appearances, he had 22 tackles and five pass breakups.
The graduate student will likely need as much of a lift as he can get from Coach Prime in terms of getting on the radar of NFL talent evaluators.
Yates didn’t crack the top 200 on Bleacher Report’s 2026 big board, and he was omitted from PFF’s early prospect rankings.
Perhaps Sanders can use his influence to shine a brighter light on his player.
