Carson Erbe recorded two goals and five assists to lead Wall to a 7-6 victory over Freehold Borough on Friday at Jersey Shore Arena.
Jack Findley added three goals and three assists for Wall (6-7-1), recording his first hat trick of the season. Evan Penn contributed two goals and four assists, marking his fourth six-point game of the season.
The victory snapped a two-game losing streak for Wall, which had previously enjoyed a five-game unbeaten streak.
Chris Esposito paced Freehold Borough (7-7-2) with three goals and two assists for five points, his second-highest scoring output of the season. Sal Esposito and Nicholas Guglieri each recorded three assists, while Nicholas Shapiro scored twice and added an assist.
The teams traded goals throughout the contest, which saw three lead changes.
Freehold Borough jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Terence Tan and Chris Esposito, but Wall responded with three unanswered goals from Penn and Findley to take a 3-2 advantage after one period.
The second period saw each team score once, with Nicholas Shapiro tallying for Freehold Borough and Carson Erbe answering for Wall to make it 4-3.
The third period featured five goals in a span of just over eight minutes. Shapiro and Chris Esposito scored 18 seconds apart to give Freehold Borough a 5-4 lead, but Findley tied it moments later.
Chris Esposito put Freehold Borough ahead 6-5, but Findley completed his hat trick to tie the game again with 4:34 left. Erbe scored the game-winner with 12 seconds remaining in regulation off assists from Penn and Findley.
Both goaltenders were busy, with RJ Webster making 21 saves for Wall and Kyle Taylor stopping 21 shots for Freehold Borough.
The teams entered the game tied for fourth place in the 10-team Shore Conference South Division.
