Smith’s double-double guides Woodbridge over Perth Amboy – Girls basketball recap

Angel Smith recorded a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds, leading Woodbridge to a 64-41 victory over Perth Amboy in Woodbridge.

Woodbridge outscored Perth Amboy 20-7 in the second quarter and led 33-22 at halftime. The Barrons extended their lead in the second half, outscoring Perth Amboy 31-19.

Bobbi Jo Timinski contributed 14 points, while Laila Shakoor added 13 points and Laila Stanford recorded 10 points and nine rebounds.

Izabella Pardo led Perth Amboy (9-7) with 20 points and Heilyn Cruz added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Woodbridge (13-5) will host East Brunswick on Monday at 5:45 p.m.
