The 3rd Congressional District encompasses portions of Burlington, Mercer and Monmouth counties. The Burlington municipalities are Bass River, Beverly, Bordentown city and township, Burlington city and township, Chesterfield, Cinnaminson, Delanco, Delran, Eastampton, Edgewater Park, Evesham, Fieldsboro, Florence, Hainesport, Lumberton, Mansfield, Medford, Medford Lakes, Moorestown, Mount Holly, Mount Laurel, New Hanover, North Hanover, Pemberton borough and township, Riverside, Riverton, Shamong, Southampton, Springfield, Tabernacle, Washington, Westampton, Willingboro, Woodland and Wrightstown. In Mercer, East Windsor, Hamilton, Hightstown, Lawrence and Robbinsville are in the district. The Monmouth communities in the district are Allentown, Englishtown, Freehold, Holmdel, Manalapan, Marlboro, Millstone, Roosevelt, Upper Freehold and part of Freehold Township.
Registered Democrats comprise almost 36% of all voters, while Republicans make up about 27% and most of the rest are unaffiliated.
Freshman Democrat Herb Conaway is the incumbent and he is unopposed.
Three Republicans are vying for their party’s nomination. Justin Barbera, a South Hampton man who ran for the seat s an independent in 2024 and as a Republican for governor last year, is running as “America First Grassroots Republican.” Jason Cullen is a business professional from Manalapan who was endorsed by the Burlington County GOP. Michael McGuire, a lawyer and Marine Corps veteran from Freehold Twp., was endorsed by the Republican committees in Mercer and Monmouth counties.
