Alex Manalang scored 18 points to lead Tenafly, No. 16 in the NJ.com Top 20, to a 68-64 overtime victory over Dumont in Dumont.
Manalang, who also grabbed five rebounds, dished out nine assists and recorded four steals, was joined in double figures by Nick Baldini and Jase Harris. Baldini finished with 18 points, eight rebounds and three assists, while Harris added 12 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Caleb Berkowitz contributed nine points and seven rebounds and Nick Lewin chipped in nine points and four assists. Tenafly finished with 20 assists and 12 steals as a team.
The game was tight throughout. Tenafly led 31-26 at halftime before Dumont outscored them 22-17 in the fourth quarter to force overtime, tying the game at 60. Tenafly then outscored Dumont 8-4 in the extra period to secure the win.
Milo Santos and Prince Munoz each scored 17 points to lead Dumont. Santos made three 3-pointers and added three assists, while Munoz recorded four steals. Aiden Reid pulled down seven rebounds for Dumont, and Christian Guareno added nine points.
With the win, Tenafly improved to 22-2 overall and 9-1 in the Big North – National division. Dumont fell to 13-11 overall and 4-4 in the Big North – American division, with its four-game winning streak snapped.
