MANILA, Philippines — Actress Dolly de Leon carries a badge for the first time in Apple TV’s upcoming thriller-comedy series “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed.”
The show is led by “Orphan Black” star Tatiana Maslany as Paula, a newly divorced mother that works as a fact checker but ends up in a rabbit hole of black mail and dead bodies.
“Convinced she witnessed a crime – while simultaneously struggling through a custody battle and an identity crisis – Paula begins her own investigation, one that could unravel a greater conspiracy while also holding the keys to rebuilding her family and sense of self,” goes the series synopsis.
Playing Paula’s husband Karl is “New Girl” star Jake Johnson, who mainly looks after their daughter Hazel (Nola Wallace) with his new wife Mallory (Jessy Hodges).
Also in the cast are Kiarra Hamagami Goldberg and Charlie Hall as Paula’s co-workers Geri and Rudy, Brandon Flynn as a camboy named Trevor, and “The White Lotus” and “The Last of Us” actor Murray Bartlett in an undisclosed role.
Dolly plays Detective Sofia Gonzalez and mostly shares scenes with Detective Baxter played by “Elementary” star Jon Michael Hill.
Coincidentally, Dolly and Murray recently both starred in the second season of Hulu’s “Nine Perfect Strangers” headlined by Nicole Kidman.
On Instagram, Dolly shared a teaser video for “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed,” which will premiere its first two episodes on May 20 on Apple TV.
“Finally! So excited for you guys to watch this!!!” Dolly wrote in her caption, placing checks behind “play a detective” and “work with Tatiana Maslany.”
Numerous peers expressed their excitement in the comments section including Karen Davila, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Erik Matti, Gab Pangilinan, and her stand-in on the show Angelica Gomez.
