Massive warehouse fire in N.J. sends thick smoke across region

Authorities in Essex County are fighting a massive blaze Sunday that has blown black plumes of smoke across the region and prompted some officials to send out air quality alerts.

The fire on Cortlandt Street in Belleville began in a warehouse and local and neighboring authorities responded to the scene, according to a post from Belleville Councilman Frank Vélez.
