Cannes 2026: ‘Fjord’ Claims The Palme d’Or

The annual amFAR gala, held at the Hotel du Cap, is a Cannes staple and marks the end of the festival for most attendees. There is truly nothing like having cocktails on the steps of the du Cap overlooking the Riviera. It’s iconic for a reason. But as I looked around the room, it was hard to find a lot of the usual heavy hitters that amFAR is accustomed to having attend. That being said, Rami Malek was there with his director Ira Sachs, after their big premiere for The Man I Love the night prior. Perennial Cannes favorite Eva Longoria chatted with guests in the crowd and took photos with fans. Heidi Klum attended with her son.

For yours truly, the biggest sighting of the night was Ciara Miller of Summer House fame. She starts shooting Dancing with the Stars at the end of August so she could potentially return to the show but she knew better than reveal her summer plans.

Coco Rocha wore a bird on her head.

Lisa Rinna went as an alien Hitchcock blonde.

Lizzo opened the show with a performance which got the audience on their feet. Robbie Williams was the midshow performer and the night closed with rising popstar, Zara Larsson. Geena Davis was the host, and seemed to have some difficulty striking the right tone with the audience.

This event is, for lack of a better word, whacky. In between courses, there was a long live auction and, inexplicably, a fashion show curated by Carine Roitfeld. It’s all the things a charity event is supposed to have, but on steroids and put into a blender.

At the end of the night, guests made their way to Eden Roc where Honey Dijon spun house music as guests spilled out to the pool deck to feel the cool sea breeze.
