Arjun Tendulkar made a strong impression in his IPL 2026 debut for Lucknow Super Giants during their final league match against Punjab Kings. The 26-year-old left-arm pacer bowled confidently and picked up his maiden IPL wicket by dismissing Prabhsimran Singh with a brilliant yorker. He finished with figures of 4-0-36-1 and was Lucknow’s most economical bowler in the match. His performance also brought an emotional reaction from father Sachin Tendulkar, who rarely posts publicly about his son’s cricket journey. After the match, Sachin shared a heartfelt message on social media praising Arjun’s patience and hard work. He wrote, “Well done, Arjun. Proud of the way you’ve carried yourself through this season, always believing in your ability, staying patient, working hard quietly, and remaining positive despite having to wait for your opportunity till the very last match.Arjun was introduced right after the powerplay by captain Rishabh Pant and started well with disciplined bowling and sharp bouncers. Pant dropped a catch off Arjun’s bowling early on, which proved costly as Prabhsimran went on to score 69 runs. Still, the youngster stayed calm and continued bowling with confidence.Sachin’s message struck a chord with fans because he rarely comments on Arjun’s career publicly. He further wrote, “Cricket tests patience as much as skill, and you handled both beautifully today. Keep your feet on the ground, and continue being in love with the game like you always have. Love you always.”Even though Lucknow lost the match, Arjun’s appearance became one of the biggest positives for the team.
