In the last few years, Alaïa’s bags have taken center stage. No longer just a favorite of the fashion crowd, the brand’s bags have risen to prominence over the last few years, thanks to former creative director Pieter Mulier‘s distinct vision for the couture House.
When Mulier became the first designer to lead Alaïa after Azzedine Alaïa’s passing in 2017, the fashion world didn’t know what to expect. Still, Mulier quickly proved to be the perfect person for the incredible task that lay before him.
Alaïa’s Quiet Luxury Hits
Under Mulier’s direction, Alaïa debuted a steady stream of handbag hits, and while the buzz-worthy Le Teckel and the adorably heart-shaped Le Cœur bag have reached cult status, one of Mulier’s later designs, the Click, has yet to receive the widespread attention it deserves.
Le Click debuted in early 2025, with an east-west body more relaxed than Le Teckel; the bag felt both on-trend and modern, yet entirely fresh. Named Le Click for its distinctive closing mechanism, the bag’s feminine shape is designed to hug the body when worn over the shoulder, and while the silhouette is simple, it’s accented with decorative leather ties with metallic rings.
Why Aren’t More People Carrying It?
What’s even more enticing about Le Click is the range of offerings. Not only does it come in a variety of sizes, with the small perfect for nights out and the largest size able to hold a laptop, but it’s also available in a range of materials from leather and suede to nylon and even satin. Plus, there is a range of color options and animal-print iterations—which we may be partial to!
We can’t help but wonder why we don’t see more of this bag IRL—have you? Discover more of Le Click via alaia.com
