Flames tore through a N.J. strip mall overnight, leaving 2 stores badly damaged

An overnight fire damaged several stores in a strip mall in Somerset County, authorities said.

The fire broke out around 11:45 p.m. Sunday at Super Tropical Foodmarket on the 700 block of Hamilton Street in Franklin Township, according to township police. It triggered a response from fire departments in several towns in Somerset and Middlesex counties.
