The Walt Disney World monorails are one way guests can park-hop in a short amount of time.
But when Florida is suddenly stormy and lightning strikes, travel can be disrupted real quick.
A monorail bound for EPCOT on Sept. 8 was temporarily stopped because of a power outage, Disney World guest Tanya Lee told Storyful News.
The EPCOT Monorail begins operating 30 minutes before the park opens and stops two hours after it closes.
Lee says that the group was on the monorail for an hour and a half.
And no power means no air conditioning.
An almost-three-minute video shows a group of passengers attempting to open the monorail windows following the driver’s instructions.
“I need a pocket knife, but they don’t let you bring those through security, do they?” said one Disney guest in the video.
Two windows were removed by passengers while they waited inside last week’s stuck monorail.
Disney guest relations met passengers once they got off the monorail and offered them cold bottles of water, Disney gift cards with a $50 value and a Lightning Lane pass, according to Lee.
Tampa Bay Times reached out to Walt Disney World for comment on last week’s power outage at the parks.
