Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown has felt like a ticking time bomb at times during the 2025 season.
The star wideout was notably unhappy with his role on the Eagles’ offense, and he voiced his frustration with offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo several times on social media.
During Sunday’s wild-card playoff matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, Brown was back to his old antics.
Cameras caught Brown and head coach Nick Sirianni getting into a heated spat late in the second quarter despite Philadelphia taking a 13-10 lead into halftime. And this wasn’t the first time the two were seen getting into it on the sideline during a game this year.

Brown was targeted five times in the first half, logging three catches for 25 yards. He was targeted on two deep throws, but he couldn’t come away with a reception either time.
Fox Sports analyst Michael Strahan called out Sirianni during the network’s halftime show for going after Brown during the game for everyone to witness.
“I don’t understand why Sirianni is running down there yelling at one of his star players, A.J. Brown,” Strahan said. “You know A.J. Brown wanted to get involved in the game, I’m pretty sure. Hasn’t seen the ball — they took two big shots with him and didn’t catch either one.

“Maybe he said, ‘Get me a shot’ and the coach said, ‘OK, you had your chance; catch the ball next time.’ But I don’t understand why you do that in the middle of a game like this. I just don’t think it brings out the bets in your player. I think it takes away and adds to the energy of the other team.”
This season as Brown’s worst since joining the Eagles in a draft day trade with the Tennessee Titans back in 2022.
The Pro Bowl wideout caught 78 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. It was the fewest yards and tied for the fewest touchdowns Brown has had in four years with the Eagles.
